The Design of Environmental Processes Lab provides a wide range of services in national and international level, to public bodies and organizations but also to companies, independently or in collaboration with other bodies. It has the appropriate equipment and the scientific staff is well trained to provide, consistently and accurately, the following analyzes and studies:

  • Determination of Chemical Characteristics of Wastewater: BOD, COD, Total Organic Carbon, Total Nitrogen, Ammoniacal Nitrogen, Nitrate, Nitrite, Sulfate, Sulfite, Phosphate, Orthophosphate, Metals (Cr, Pb, Cd, As, Zn, Cu, Fe, Ni, etc.), Volatile fatty acids, etc.
  • Determination of Physical Characteristics of Wastewater: Solids (Total, Suspended, Volatile, Dissolved, Colloid), Temperature, Electrical Conductivity, Redox potential, Dissolved Oxygen, Turbidity, pH, Odor.
  • Determination of Higher Heating Value of Liquid and Solid Fuels
  • Qualitative and Quantitative Determination of Biogas
  • Optimization / Upgrade Study of Overloaded WWTPs
  • Design of Municipal and Industrial Wastewater Treatment Processes and Energy Valorization
  • Design of Biosolids Valorization Processes using Anaerobic digestion and Gasification
  • Analysis and Processing of Landfill Leachates (determination of physical and chemical characteristics, adsorption-leaching tests with zeolite or other minerals)
  • Design of Environmental Plants
  • Environmental Impact Assessment
  • Design of Wastewater Recovery and Reuse
  • Design of Microalgae Culture Photobioreactors
